Cyclone

A cyclone is a piece of equipment used in plastic recycling to separate and remove impurities from shredded plastic. The process involves introducing a stream of shredded plastic into the cyclone, which spins the material rapidly, creating a centrifugal force that separates the heavier impurities from the lighter plastic particles. The impurities are then collected at the bottom of the cyclone and removed, while the clean plastic is discharged from the top.

Cyclones are an effective and widely used tool in plastic recycling because they are relatively simple, easy to maintain, and cost-effective. They can also be used in combination with other recycling equipment, such as shredders and grinders, to create a more efficient and comprehensive recycling system.

There are different types of cyclones available, each designed to handle specific types and volumes of material. For plastic recycling, a small, compact cyclone is often sufficient to handle the relatively low volumes of shredded plastic that are processed at one time. Larger cyclones are typically used in industrial applications, where higher volumes of material are processed.

In addition to plastic recycling, cyclones are also used in a variety of other industries, including agriculture, mining, and food processing, where they are used to separate solids and liquids or to remove particulate matter from gases or liquids.
